A bit more context
I'm Kristen Fitzpatrick, a Raleigh-based designer helping brands and communities tell their stories through thoughtful, human-centered design.
Kristen Fitzpatrick (Krissy, to most) grew up on Long Island. She was the youngest of three in a family raised on ’60s folk, nightly Jeopardy!, and a deep love of cured meats.
She didn’t discover graphic design until college, but had always been drawn to visual problem-solving. Krissy entered her design program with no portfolio, little experience, and a lot of catching up to do. Her early work was…rough.
But she loved the process—taking a spark of an idea through drafts, critiques, and revisions until it became something thoughtful and polished. So she kept going, and with time and practice (as with most things), she got a lot better.
Years into her career, Krissy traded the stability of a corporate design job for the creative independence of freelancing—another leap into the unknown. She learned by doing, following the projects that excited her and the people she genuinely connected with.
That approach has led to a network of incredible clients, collaborators, and friends. Plus a portfolio she’s proud to share.
Krissy designs to make things clearer, smarter, and a little more human—and enjoys working with people who value the process as much as the outcome.

My holy trinity:
Stinky cheeses, Bravo, & Larry David
Nothing heals me quite like:

I’ve made peace with being the person who:
Stops for every dog I see in public
If I were a minor character in a movie,
I’d be the one who:
Overshares. No question.
A design decision I’ll defend like it’s my child:
You should never justify text!
You know better.
